Played in nine games for the Dukes in the defensive backfield in 2014 after transferring from the University of Pittsburgh. as a sophomore (2014)
Made a season-high two pass break-ups at CCSU ... had season-high tackles of three in games against Youngstown State, Central Connecticut State and Sacred Heart... had three kick returns for a total of 71 yards , including a long of 41 at Wagner ... averaged 23.7 yards per return... as a redshirt freshman at Pitt (2013)
Played in 11 games in his first active collegiate season...served on special teams and as a reserve cornerback...totaled nine tackles, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble on the year...had a season-high three tackles vs. Notre Dame...forced a fumble vs. Florida State...recovered a fumbled punt vs. Virginia at the Cavaliers' 19 that Pitt parlayed into a touchdown. as a freshman at Pitt (2012)

A standout on both sides of the ball for perennial Class A power Clairton as a receiver and defensive back...selected first team All-State Class A by the Pennsylvania Sports Writers...Pennsylvania Football News first team All-Class A...over his final three varsity seasons, led Clairton to a 47-1 record, three WPIAL Class A championships and three PIAA state titles...Coles was part of a 47-game winning streak to close his varsity football career...in addition to receiver and defensive back, he also contributed as a PAT specialist...averaged 19.4 yards per catch as a senior (21 receptions for 408 yards)...also had 16 rushes for 96 yards (6.0 avg.)...compiled 80 total points (nine touchdowns and 26 PATs)...Coles also shined in track and basketball at Clairton...swept the 100 and 200-meter sprints at the 2011 WPIAL and PIAA championship meets as a junior...despite suffering a knee injury in the football state title game in December 2011, Coles spent the next four months rehabilitating and repeated as the WPIAL 100-meter champ and placed third at the state meet as a senior...is a third-generation state gold medalist in track (mother Marla Puryear and grandfather Norman Jones also won state 100-meter titles)...selected the 2010-11 Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Male Athlete of the Year...rated the No. 34 overall prospect in Pennsylvania by Rivals...played under Coach Tom Nola...lettered in four different sports at Clairton (football, baseball, basketball and track)...Honor Roll student...is the son of Kevin Coles and the late Marla Puryear...born 9/23/92...has three brothers and three sisters...administration of justice major.
