Kate McCartney is in her fourth year on the Bluff as the head athletic trainer for the Volleyball, Lacrosse and Rowing teams.
While earning her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Miami University in 2005, McCartney assisted clinical instructors with the men's basketball, women's tennis, football and softball teams. Additionally, she assisted athletic trainers during the Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving and Track and Field championships.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Miami University in 2005, McCartney went on to earn a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Akron in 2007 where she worked with the softball as a graduate assistant.
The Fremont, Ohio native is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association as well as the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association.
