Erie, Pa. – The No. 7 Duquesne University acrobatics and tumbling team fell to No. 9 Gannon, 259.755–254.645, Friday night in Erie.
Duquesne won two of the first three events to take a 94.50–93.65 lead at the half. The Golden Knights swept the three second-half events, including a four-point advantage in the team event, to secure the top-10 victory.
The Dukes recorded eight program highs in the meet, seven coming in the first half. All three first-half events produced program-best totals.
Duquesne tied its program best in compulsory to open the meet with 37.10 points, highlighted by a program-high 9.65 in compulsory acro and a matched high of 9.75 in compulsory toss.
In the acro event, a program-best 28.35 was fueled by a program-high 8.950 in six-element, along with a 9.75 in five-element and a 9.650 in seven-element.
All three pyramid heats scored 9.60 or better. Synchronized and open pyramid each posted 9.60, while inversion pyramid delivered a program-best 9.85 to lift Duquesne to a program-record 29.05 in the event.
In the second half, an 8.80 (out of 9.40) tied a program best in synchronized toss. All three individual tumbling passes scored 9.0 or higher.

Duquesne returns home Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. to host nationally ranked Azusa Pacific at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse for Kids Day. Admission to all home meets is free.
