Duquesne Snaps Three-Game Slide at Fordham

Dukes hold Rams to just 4-for-28 performance from beyond the arc in road win

Bronx, N.Y. – The Duquesne University men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday, earning a 74-63 victory over Fordham at Rose Hill Gym. The Dukes improved to 10-8 (.556) overall during the 2025-26 season, including 2-3 (.400) in the Atlantic 10.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS
Duquesne never trailed in the contest and kept Fordham at bay until an 8-0 burst allowed the Dukes to push their lead back to double digits, 55-43, with 5:46 to go. Junior guard Jimmie Williams scored four points during the run, including a layup on the break thanks to a dime from senior guard Tarence Guinyard that forced the Rams to call timeout. Forward John Hugley IV hit a pair at the free-throw line, while guard Cam Crawford also added a layup on the break courtesy of a feed from Guinyard. Out of the break Fordham stemmed the tide with a jumper from DeJour Reaves, but Crawford answered, burying a three-pointer from the corner in front of the Duquesne bench just inside five minutes to play to extend the lead to 58-45.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Despite being outrebounded, 44-36, the Dukes put forth one of their best defensive performances of the conference slate, holding the Rams to 35.7 percent (25-of-70) shooting, including a 4-for-28 (14.3%) performance from beyond the arc. Reaves, the leading scorer in the Atlantic 10, led Fordham (10-9 | 1-5 Atlantic 10) with 17 points but took 18 shots and was unsuccessful on each of his five attempts from long range. The Dukes also forced Christian Henry into a 1-for-7 performance from deep as he scored 10 points for the Rams but also finished with six turnovers.
