Dukes Drop One-Goal Affair to Falcons

Duquesne outshoots Bowling Green, 16-6, but unable to come up with equalizer

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Bowling Green Sunday at Cochrane Stadium, slipping to 4-2-0 (.667) overall during the 2025 season.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS
The Falcons were able to find the back of the net for the only score of the contest midway through the first half. Emma Stransky found an open seam and clear green to connect with Haley Wolf, who tracked the ball down on the near sideline. Wolf lifted a ball into the box, and Stransky found perfect placement, heading the ball past junior goalkeeper Ali Hughes at 26:30 to give Bowling Green (5-1-1) the lead. The marker was just one of two shots on goal during the afternoon for the Falcons, who were outshot, 16-6, by the Dukes, including 4-2 in shots on net. Duquesne had opportunities at the equalizer in the second half, but Bowling Green packed the defensive end, blocking multiple opportunities by the Dukes.

GETTING LOOSE
Junior forward Kaitlyn Killinger, who collected her first career NCAA Division I goal in a 4-1 victory over Cleveland State (9/4), remained on the attack Sunday against the Falcons. She was one of two players to get off three shots, joining senior forward Brianna Moore, with each of her shots on net. Nine different players were able to register a shot for Duquesne, including two each from seniors Maya Matesa and Mackenzie Muir.
