DAVIDSON, N.C. – Freshman
Kadence Ribbink placed fourth overall in her collegiate debut to lead the No. 9-ranked Duquesne triathlon team at the Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon on Sunday. The Dukes placed five athletes in the top half of the 79 competitors in the 750-meter swim, 12.7-mile bike and 5k run event.

Ribbink crossed in 58:02.34, highlighted by a team-best 29:44 bike split (10th overall) and the fourth-fastest run in the race at 18:14.
Rachele Lavagno posted Duquesne's top swim time of 9:02 (14th overall) and added a 29:51 bike before finishing 23rd in 1:00:53.21. Freshman
Catherine Staley followed closely out of the water in 9:04 and went on to place 31st in 1:02:18.15 in her debut.
Robyn Hunt (36th, 1:03:44.09) and
Kate Potashnik (38th, 1:04:03.94) also finished in the upper half of the standings, giving the Dukes five top-40 performers.

UP NEXT
The Dukes will host the third annual
Duquesne Invitational Sept. 19–20 at Brady's Run Park. For the first time, the event will expand to two days with a Friday night aquathlon followed by the traditional Saturday morning triathlon.
