WELCOME BACK
The Dukes return eight letterwinners from the 2024-25 squad that posted a 21-13 overall record (.618), including a 9-9 mark (.500) in Atlantic 10 play. For the 11th time in program history - and the second consecutive season - Duquesne earned an at-large bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). Among the returners are five sophomores and three juniors, including standout sophomore guards
Mackenzie Blackford,
Nadia Moore, and
Faith Walker. Blackford played in 33 games with two starts, averaging 8.2 points per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the field. She made 70 three-pointers, the second-most on the team and fifth in the A-10, while ranking second in the conference in three-point field goal percentage at 38.7 percent. Moore contributed 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game across 31 appearances (eight starts), shooting 35.6 percent from beyond the arc. Walker also played in 33 games with three starts, emerging as the Dukes' primary defender at the top of the press and frequently taking on the assignment of guarding the opponent's top scorer.
ALEXIS BORDAS | Wheeling, W.Va. | Guard
One of the most decorated student-athletes in West Virginia history, Bordas led Wheeling Park to an impressive 85-22 record over her four-year career, highlighted by a Class AAAA State Championship in 2024. As a sophomore, she guided the Patriots to a 25-3 record and a 4A State Runner-Up finish, while also helping them secure the 2024 5A conference championship. A magnet for accolades, Bordas became the first player in West Virginia history to earn Gatorade Player of the Year honors three times. She also claimed MaxPreps Player of the Year three times and was named the Mary Ostrowski Award winner (Sportswriter Player of the Year). A consistent force on the court, she was a four-time First Team All-State, All-Valley, and All-OVAC selection. In her senior season, she averaged
33.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game en route to being named the 2024 State Tournament Class AAAA Most Valuable Player. Bordas capped her high school career as Wheeling Park's all-time leading scorer with 2,606 points and
set both school and Ohio Valley records for three-pointers made with 367.
"Alexis is the 3-time West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year and probably the most decorated high school player we have ever had enroll at Duquesne," Burt explained. "Alexis is a walking bucket, with a quick release and ability to consistently shoot the ball to 32-35 feet. Her craftiness on the drive will open up driving lanes for her teammates. It's very clear that Alexis's winner mentality and work ethic will impact our team immediately."
MAJA ROHKOHL | Hannover, Germany | Gardner-Webb | Center
Rohkohl joins Duquesne after spending one season at Gardner-Webb, where she appeared in 26 games and made 17 starts for the Runnin' Bulldogs. In her lone season in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, she averaged 17.9 minutes, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.5 points per game. Rohkohl ranked second on the team and 10th in the Big South in rebounds per game, while her 156 total rebounds placed her 14th in the conference. The Germany native recorded three games with double-digit rebounds, including a career-high 18 boards in a win over Presbyterian. She tallied eight games with eight or more rebounds and registered at least one block in 10 contests. Offensively, the 6'3" center scored a season-high nine points on two occasions, once in the season opener against West Georgia and again on the road at Charlotte. Prior to college, Rohkohl attended Greensboro Day School, where she helped lead the Bengals to back-to-back conference championships in 2023 and 2024. She surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her high school career and earned all-conference honors. Rohkohl was also selected to participate in two prestigious all-star events: the North Carolina Private School All-Star Game and the North Carolina Triad All-Star Game.
"Maja was the number two rebounder among the 400+ freshmen in the transfer portal this offseason," Burt said. "Maja is strong, physical, and runs great in transition. Maja rebounds well outside her space, and is a physical presence on the block. She will be an important asset to the team this year as she learns our system. The future potential for Maja is very high because of her coachability. Excited to have Maja in a Duquesne uniform."
HARRIET FORD | Perth, Western Australia | Omaha | Forward
A transfer from the University of Nebraska Omaha, Ford comes to the Bluff after a strong freshman season with the Mavericks. She appeared in 25 games, making four starts, and averaged 18.7 minutes per game while contributing 7.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. The Australian native played a key role in helping Omaha reach the second round of the Summit League Championships, finishing fourth in the conference in rebounds per game. Her 195 total rebounds led the team and ranked 10th in the Summit League overall. Ford recorded four double-doubles during her freshman campaign and scored in double figures seven times, including a season-high 20 points in a win over the College of Saint Mary. The 6'3" forward pulled down 10 or more rebounds in five games, including three performances with 15-plus boards, establishing herself as a dominant presence in the paint.
"Harriet was the number one rebounder among the 400+ freshmen in the transfer portal this offseason," Burt explained. "Harriet possesses a beautiful hook shot out to the 12ft range, along with shooting the trail three-pointer with confidence. Harriet rebounds outside her space, and is a physical tough presence on the block. Harriet has a love for Australian Rules Football and it shows with her physicality on both ends of the floor. She is going to be a fun player for our fans to cheer for."
DUNJA ZECEVIC | Belgrade, Serbia | UTEP | Forward
A transfer from the University of Texas at El Paso, Zecevic joins the Dukes after spending the past two seasons with the Miners. She appeared in 43 games, making 10 starts, and averaged 14.5 minutes per contest. Over her two seasons, she posted averages of 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting .370 percent from the field. In the 2023-24 season, the Serbian native ranked fifth on the team in scoring with 5.4 points per game and finished second in total blocks with 15. She recorded at least one block in nine games, including five outings with two or more. Offensively, she scored in double figures six times, highlighted by two 13-point performances and a career-best 14 rebounds at Colorado State. The 6'2" forward shot an impressive .407 percent from the field and .722 percent from the free-throw line. Zecevic also excelled in the classroom, earning a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in back-to-back seasons and receiving the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal in 2024.
"We are very excited about Dunja and her skill set," Burt mentioned. "She will remind our fans of Amadea Szamosi. Very skilled, a good 3pt shooter, high basketball IQ, and has length. Passing and playing with pace is a hallmark of her game. Dunja plays well facing or with her back to the basket. Dunja was on the All-Star team for the FIBA u20's and she has had a successful international career with various Serbian National Teams."
RAEVIN WASHINGTON | Harrisonburg, Virginia | Forward
One of the premier shot blockers in the Valley District, Washington joins the Dukes after a standout career at Turner Ashby High School. As a junior, she was named the Daily News-Record All-Valley Girls Basketball Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 12.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. That season, she set school records for both blocks in a single game (12) and blocks in a single season (118). The 6'5" forward continued her dominant presence as a senior, leading the Knights to a district championship during the 2023–24 campaign and earning Valley District Player of the Year honors. Over her high school career, Washington was a two-time Most Valuable Player, a two-time All-State selection, and earned First Team Valley District and All-Region 3C honors in three consecutive seasons. She finished her career with an impressive 259 total blocks, establishing herself as one of the most impactful defensive players in program history.
"Raevin is an athletic forward who affects the game on defense with her 6-8 wingspan," Burt said. "Whether its altering or blocking shots, switching onto guards or rebounding outside her space, Raevin is college ready on the defensive end of the floor. Raevin possesses a good 15ft jump shot off the dribble, and has multiple moves in the post. We have never had a player with Raevin's size, athleticism, and skill set enroll at Duquesne, the sky is the limit for Raevin.

Seye has built a strong reputation as one of Senegal's premier three-point shooters and rebounders, averaging 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while using her length to defend the rim and control the glass.
"Bakhaw is widely considered the best player in Senegal," Burt mentioned. "She is a skilled 6-4 guard who can shoot it with deep range. Bakhaw has been a member of The Seed Academy where she has been coached at a high level along with playing against great competition all over Africa. Her athleticism and length will allow her to compete for minutes immediately."
