FAIRFAX, Va. — Duquesne's men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships with a fifth-place finish, scoring 62 points and earning five medals.
The Dukes brought home four medals on Sunday to go with
Louie Liberatore's silver medal in the javelin he earned on Saturday. Duquesne finished with its best place and most medals since 2022.

DAY 1 RECAP
ON THE PODIUM
Ian Baughman and
David Williams each earned a pair of medals Sunday at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
Baughman claimed silver in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.28 seconds, the second-fastest mark in Duquesne history.
Baughman and Williams also teamed with
Isaac Wetzel and
Landon Lacey to earn bronze in the 4x400-meter relay. Anchored by Williams, the squad set a program record with a time of 3:12.72.
Williams added a bronze in the 400 meters with a time of 47.53 seconds — just 0.06 seconds off the personal best he set Saturday. The performance marked Williams' fourth career A-10 medal; he previously won gold in the 4x100-meter relay and bronze in the 4x400 in 2022.
Christian Cupp secured silver in the decathlon with a score of 6,684. He capped the event with three personal bests Sunday — in the pole vault (3.75m / 12-3.5), javelin (44.02m / 144-5), and the 1,500 meters, which he won in 4:36.87. Cupp also won the 100 and 400 meters on Saturday and posted a personal best in the high jump (1.90m / 6-2.75).
NOTABLE FINISHES
Colm Matheney placed fifth in the decathlon with a score of 6,231. He recorded personal bests in the high jump (1.75m / 5-8.75), 110-meter hurdles (16.04) and discus (39.18m / 128-6), winning the discus event.
Jadon Rahman finished sixth in the 800 meters with his time of 1:54.17.
Duquesne's 4x800-meter relay team of
Sam de la Riva,
Maxwell Hamilton,
Gio Mastromonaco and
Jack Barnhisel finished in seventh place with a time of 7:35.59.
Ryan Ellison and
Isaac Wetzel each scored points in hurdles in addition to Baughman. Ellison placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with his time of 14.98 seconds, while Wetzel finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with his time of 53.77 seconds — just one day after setting a new personal best.
Cameron Bogdan narrowly missed scoring in the 5,000-meter run, placing ninth — up from 30th a year ago — with a personal-best time of 14:32.58. He also recorded a personal best as a scorer in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Day One.

Qualifying Dukes will compete in the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships, scheduled for May 16-18 back in Fairfax, Va.
