WASHINGTON, D.C. – Duquesne seniors Hanna Pawela and Mackenzie Leszczynski have been recognized for their standout seasons, earning spots on the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference and All-Academic teams, the league announced Thursday.

ATLANTIC 10 RELEASE

Pawela, a senior from Glen Allen, Va., and four-year member of the Dukes, was named to the All-Conference First Team, becoming Duquesne's first top-team selection since 2022. The biology major, who owns a 3.96 GPA, also earned a spot on the A-10 All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year.

One of the most disruptive defenders in the nation, Pawela ranked fifth in Division I in caused turnovers per game (3.00) and 13th in ground balls per game (3.07). She led the Atlantic 10 in caused turnovers for the third consecutive season and finished second in ground balls, both overall and in conference play. In her final collegiate game, she totaled a career-high seven caused turnovers, along with six ground balls and three draw controls against Rhode Island. Her 2025 campaign included four games with at least five caused turnovers and four games with five or more ground balls. Pawela also recorded a career-best 43 draw controls, including a standout eight-draw effort in the win over Saint Francis.

Pawela graduates second all-time at Duquesne in caused turnovers (158) and fourth in ground balls (169), while her 158 career caused turnovers lead all active Division I players. Her four career Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honors, including two in 2025, are the most in program history.

Leszczynski, a senior from Flourtown, Pa., and fellow four-year Duke, earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the third consecutive season, marking her fourth straight postseason recognition. The biology major, who carries a 3.66 GPA, was also named to the A-10 All-Academic Team for the first time.

One of the most productive midfielders in the league, Leszczynski led Duquesne in points (61), goals (41), and draw controls (53), while dishing out a career-high 20 assists. She scored in 14 of 15 games, including six outings with four or more goals—four in A-10 play—and seven games with five or more points. Her collegiate career concluded with a career-best seven-goal performance against Rhode Island in the 2025 finale.

In the Atlantic 10, Leszczynski ranked ninth in points per game (4.07), 10th in draw controls per game (3.53), 11th in goals per game (2.73), and 13th in assists per game (1.33). She also stood among the league's most efficient shooters, placing fourth in free position percentage (.579) and sixth in shot percentage (.513). Leszczynski graduates second all-time at Duquesne in draw controls (215), sixth in goals (144), and tied for seventh in assists (51).
