Dukes Fall at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — The Duquesne University lacrosse team dropped its final road game of the season on Saturday, falling to Richmond, 21–6.

The Spiders (9–6, 7–2 A-10) built a 13–0 lead midway through the second quarter and extended it to 16–1 early in the third. The Dukes (5–9, 2–7 A-10) answered with a 5–1 stretch, led by three goals from Corinne Webb, before Richmond closed the game with four straight goals.

Webb's hat trick was her team-leading seventh of the season and her second straight game with at least three goals.

Mackenzie Leszczynski, Mia Piocquidio and Chloe Holmes each added a goal, while Leszczynski, Tristen Chang and Emily King recorded one assist apiece.

Cameron Counts led the defense with three ground balls and three caused turnovers. In goal, Megan LaBorne made three saves and Korrigan Sweeney added five.

UP NEXT
Duquesne wraps up its season next Saturday at home against Rhode Island. First draw is set for noon at Rooney Field, with Senior Day festivities taking place before the game.
