Duquesne Finishes Sixth at ITC Sectional

Junior Emma Siekierski earns top spot for Dukes in ISC qualifier

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University bowling team began postseason competition this weekend with the ISC & ITC Sectionals in Addison, Ill., at Stardust Bowl. The Dukes finished sixth, accumulating 12,389 total pins over the course of four blocks of 16-game Baker action.

The top four teams advanced to ITC Nationals, which included Mount Mercy (13,191), Louisiana Tech (12,965), Judson (12,824) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (12,445). St. Francis (Ill.) finished fifth with 12,424, and trailing Duquesne and rounding out the top 10 was Monmouth (12,340), Spring Arbor (12,273), Calumet (12,044) and Indiana Tech (12,042).

Upon completion of the first block, the Dukes sat fifth with 3,112 total pins, including a 233 in games two and eight. Dipping to sixth after the second block, Duquesne rallied to move into the top four after the third block with 9,376 total pins, including a 224 in game 46 and a 226 in game 47. The Dukes rolled their two best games in the final block, including a 266 in game 52 and a 245 in game 61, but Wisconsin-Whitewater finished the fourth block with 3,244 total pins to claim the final team spot at the ITC Nationals.

In ISC action to open postseason play, taking home the top spot for the Dukes was junior Emma Siekierski, who closed with 1,251 total pins to finish 17th. The best game for Siekierski came in game three, as she rolled a career-high 266, which came on the heels of opening with a 212 in game one and a 246 in game two. Senior Morgan Brookover also finished in the top 25 for Duquesne, claiming 20th with 1,235 total pins. The best game for Brookover came in game four, as she fired a 237.

Graduate student Samantha Timm also competed at the ISC Sectional, tying for 31st with Mary Graves of Elmhurst College with 1,209 total pins, including a 254 in game four. Rounding out the lineup for the Dukes was senior Ranelle Ulanday (1,177), sophomore Maribeth Baker (1,150), freshman Anna Clark (1,132) and sophomore Ivanna Fraticelli (1,125).

Duquesne returns to postseason action with the 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship, which is set for Friday, March 21, through Sunday, March 23, in Hamilton, N.J., at Hamilton Lanes.
