PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne University acrobatics & tumbling team continues its impressive inaugural season, climbing to No. 12 in the first regular-season rankings released by the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA).
The Dukes have jumped three spots from their No. 15 preseason ranking and are averaging 250.834 points through six meets. Sporting a 3-3 record, Duquesne made an immediate statement with a victory over then-No. 3 Gannon in the program's debut meet.
The team will wrap up its regular season on Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m., hosting Buffalo State at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. The Dukes are the only first-year program in the rankings among seven debuting in 2025.
The NCATA championships committee considers the overall performance of teams throughout the season thus far and utilized the following criteria to consider team rankings: W/L record, strength of schedule, head-to-head competition, common opponents, average meet score (adjusted to remove high/low), average meet start value (adjusted to remove high/low), score differential (adjusted to remove high/low) and the teams' progression throughout the season.
Two more sets of regular season rankings will be released on April 2 and April 9. The 2025 eight-team championship field and at-large qualifiers for event finals will be released on Monday, April 14.
