Duquesne Announces 2024 Schedule

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Non-conference home games with Mercyhurst, Bowling Green and Kent State, a neutral-site match against Pitt at Highmark Stadium and a full slate of Atlantic 10 games highlight the 2024 Duquesne University women's soccer schedule.

The Dukes, led by head coach Al Alvine, will open the 2024 campaign Thursday, August 15, with a 7:00 p.m. match against new NCAA Division I member Mercyhurst out of the Northeast Conference (NEC) at Rooney Field.

Duquesne follows by taking on Pitt at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 18, in Station Square at Highmark Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship. The first true road game of the 2024 season for the Dukes arrives Thursday, Sept. 12, with a 4:00 p.m. match at Saint Francis U, also out of the NEC. Duquesne doesn't leave the state of Pennsylvania until its final non-conference game of the year Sunday, Sept. 15, at Youngstown State.

Also on the home non-conference slate for the Dukes are matches against Bowling Green (August 25) and Kent State (Sept. 8).

Duquesne will open its Atlantic 10 slate on the road, traveling to Richmond, Va., Thursday, Sept. 19, to take on Richmond at 5:00 p.m. before returning for a three-game homestand that features Davidson (Sept. 22), Rhode Island (Sept. 26) and Dayton (Sept. 29) visiting the Bluff.

Atlantic 10 road games for Duquesne also features trips to Fordham (Oct. 3), La Salle (Oct. 12), VCU (Oct. 17) and George Mason (Oct. 27), while the Dukes will also host Saint Louis (Oct. 6) and Saint Joseph's (Oct. 24).

The 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship begins Friday, Nov. 1, and continues Saturday, Nov. 2, before semifinal action, which is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 6. The 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship final is set for Sunday, Nov. 10.

Prior to the beginning of the regular season, the Dukes will play a pair of exhibition games, including a home match against Robert Morris (August 6) and a visit to Cleveland State (August 10).

Duquesne is coming off a 2023 season in which its posted an overall mark of 8-8-4 (.500), including 4-2-4 (.600) in the A-10. The Dukes return each of their top three scorers in junior forwards Maya Matesa and Brianna Moore and sophomore midfield/forward Anna Bundy. Combined, the trio accounted for 15 goals and 32 points, with Matesa tying for fifth in the A-10 in goals (7) and eighth in points (15).
