PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne University football team continued its climb in the FCS national rankings, earning the No. 19 spot in both the Week 12 Stats Perform Poll and the AFCA Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl.
The Dukes (8-2, 5-0 NEC) clinched at least a share of the Northeast Conference (NEC) title for the seventh time in program history last week with a 42-21 win over Wagner, completing a perfect 5-0 home season at Rooney Field. Duquesne has won eight straight games, the longest streak since joining the NEC and the program's best since 2002. The Dukes are one of three remaining unbeaten teams in FCS conference play this season at 7-0, including a ranked win over then-No. 21/20 Youngstown State in Week 3.
Duquesne has scored 30 or more points in each of its last seven games and leads the NEC with averages of 41.2 points scored and 17.8 points allowed per game in conference play.
The No. 19 ranking is the highest for the Dukes as a member of the NEC and the best for any NEC team since 2019.
Duquesne will travel to Central Connecticut State (6-5, 4-1 NEC) for a winner-take-all game for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs. Kickoff at Arute Field in New Britain, Conn., is scheduled for noon. Fans can watch the game on
