Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University bowling team matched its longest winning streak of the 2023-24 season Saturday, finishing 5-0 in the second day of the Red Flash Invitational in Altoona, Pa., at Holiday Bowl.
In Baker play, the Dukes opened with a 970-927 win over No. 15 Mount St. Mary's and followed with victories over Pitt Greensburg (935-748), Morgan State (887-808), No. 19 Valpraiso (980-903) and Pitt Bradford (992-755). Duquesne has now won eight consecutive matches to improve to 51-25 (.671) overall during the 2023-24 season.
The Dukes sit atop the standings after two days of action at the Red Flash Invite with a 9-1 record and own the most pins knocked down with 9,548, an average of 191.0 per game. The Mount also posted a record of 9-1 to go along with 9,499 pins (190.0 average), while the Crusaders have posted an 8-2 mark with 9,236 pins.

The best game Saturday for the Dukes came in game three against Pitt Bradford with a 244, which followed on the heels of a 236 in the same game against Valparaiso. Duquesne also opened play Saturday with a 231 against Mount St. Mary's before closing with a 229 in the win over Pitt Bradford.
Bracket play of the Red Flash Invitational is set for Sunday, Jan. 28, with the Dukes facing off with Mount St. Mary's. The winner advances to the championship match, while the loser squares off with the winner of Valparaiso and host Saint Francis U.
