WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Duquesne University men's track and field team battled at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary on Friday and Saturday.
 
Gabe Sanders took first place in the open shot put event, marking 14.02m.
 
Freshman 
Joe Klanchar placed second in the javelin throw with a 45.69m on his third and final throw.
 
Zack Toth posted a 14:44.82 to earn a bronze medal in the 5000m race.
 
Freshman 
Matt DeMatteo came in fourth place in the 400m hurdles with a 54.40, the third best time in program history, while 
Zach DeCarmine ran a 56.17 to finish in ninth place.
 
Nick Tarabokia launched a 36.70m discus throw to finish in fifth place.
 
Cam Mbalo charted a 14.47m triple jump coming in sixth place in the invitational.
 
Ryan Ellison crossed the line in eighth place with a 15.12 in the 100m hurdles.

Antonio Pitts paced three Dukes relay squads with a 3:19.78 in seventh place.

rd place out of 38 competing teams.
 
The Dukes are back in town on April 13 for their next meet at Carnegie Mellon.
