ORLANDO, FLA – Duquesne, ranked 11th in the latest NTCA Top 25, finished third in a 12-team field at the Sunshine State Classic at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando, Fla. over the weekend.

The Dukes posted a 196.3 65-game average in baker, traditional and bracket play in placing behind No. 5 Stephen F. Austin and No. 4 Arkansas State.

Sophomore Morgan Brookover earned a spot on the all-tournament team with a six-game 211.83 average. Brookover posted four of her top six scores of the season at the event.

Sunday opened with a 1,106-1,060 win over NEC rival No. 25 Sacred Heart in the final traditional match. Four of five Dukes who bowled topped the 200 pin mark led by Morgan Brookover's career-high 247. The 1,106 total was DU's second-highest in traditional play this year.

The Dukes fell to Stephen F. Austin (2-4) in their first best-of-7 baker match before finishing strong with a 4-0 win over Sacred Heart to secure third place.
