PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne University men's and women's cross country teams will stay close to home this weekend and compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday at Schenley Park.

- Duquesne raced at the Paul Short Run last weekend, hosted by Lehigh University it is one of the largest races in the country.
- The Dukes were led by Haley Hamilton for the third consecutive meet to start the season ... Hamilton placed ninth out of 351 runners in the brown division of the 6000m race with a 21:58.5 … Casey Padgett made it back-to-back meets with the fastest DU time on the men's side with a 25:52 in 55th place out of 400.
- The women's team placed second out of 43 teams with nine runners in the top 80 and all five scorers in the top 50 ... The men took 36th out of 47.
- Both Dukes teams won their season opening meet at Saint Francis … Zack Toth and Padgett finished first and second in the meet and had four of the top seven finishers … Hamilton won the women's race and Gina Bolla came in third.
- The CMU Invite is the second of three straight weekends the Dukes will be competing.

- Duquesne travels to Bowling Green to compete in the Falcon Invitational next Friday.
