Dukes Place Second at NEC Meet #2

Three bowlers finish among the Top 6 in two-day traditional event

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Duquesne went 5-2 in finishing second to Fairleigh Dickinson at NEC Meet #2 over the weekend in North Brunswick, N.J.

DU posted a tournament-best 196.9 per game average in totaling 6,881 pins, 55 more than FDU.

Shannon Small posted a seven-game total of 1,478 (211.14), to place second in the two-day traditional format event. Kiearra Saldi placed fifth with a 200.71 average (1405 pins in seven games).

Brenna Gleim, who rolled a career-best 234 vs. Saint Francis U and a 233 against Wagner, finished 6th (198.57), while Ranelle Ulanday placed 14th with a 190.00 seven-game average.

Morgan Brookover had a 197.75 four-game average, including a career-high 243 vs. St. Francis Brooklyn.

The Dukes, who are ranked 13th nationally, went 2-1 on Saturday with wins over Saint Francis U (995-830) and St. Francis Brooklyn (993-760) and a 13-pin loss to #22 LIU (947-960).

On Sunday, DU fell to #10 Fairleigh Dickinson (989-1017) before closing strong with wins over Wagner (1085-874), Merrimack (937-825) and #16 Sacred Heart (935-850). The 1085 vs. Wagner - where four of the five Dukes who competed rolled a 215 or better - was DU's second-highest traditional total of the season.

The Dukes are currently second in the NEC standings through two of three scheduled conference events:
