Dukes Add Florida State to 2022 Schedule

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne football head coach Jerry Schmitt announced today that the Dukes will open the 2022 campaign at Florida State.

Duquesne is slated to travel to Tallahassee to take on the three-time national champion Seminoles on Aug. 27, 2022 at Doak Campbell Stadium.

This will be the first meeting between the Dukes and Florida State.

The Seminoles - led by head coach Mike Norvell - have claimed three national championships, 15 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) titles and have featured three Heisman Trophy winners.

It will be Duquesne's sixth game against an opponent from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) since the Dukes returned to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) ranks in 1992.

Duquesne is scheduled to begin the 2021 fall season with a pair of matchups at FBS opponents, first at TCU on Sept. 4 followed by a trip to Ohio University on Sept. 11. The Dukes have faced FBS foes in Buffalo (2014), UMass (2018) and Hawaii (2018). Duquesne is also slated to return to Honolulu in 2022 to face the Rainbow Warriors on Sept. 17.

Duquesne is set to start its 2021 spring campaign on Sunday, March 7 hosting Sacred Heart at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
