DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Duquesne women's soccer team (4-5-2, 2-2-1 A-10) played to a scoreless draw at Davidson (4-7-2, 0-4-1 A-10) Sunday afternoon in an Atlantic 10 match.

The Dukes nearly broke the tie in the 49
th-minute of the match off of a corner-kick from
Hannah Nguyen (Irwin, Pa./Penn Trafford). Nguyen's corner attempt found
Sarah Wilkinson (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West), who rang a shot off of the left post. The rebound came right to the foot of
Lexy Kendro (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin), but her shot was stopped by Davidson reserve goalkeeper Emily Smith.
The Wildcats sustained pressure around the 50
th-minute, but a save by Virgin and a blocked shot kept the match scoreless.
Davidson had two more prime scoring opportunities in the 76
th and 79
th-minutes. A shot attempt was blocked and Virgin collected the ball as it trickled near the left post in the 76
th-minute and later made a diving save to re-direct another Davidson shot to help send the match into overtime.
After a scoreless first overtime session, the Wildcats had one last chance in the final minute of the second overtime. A foul just outside the box setup a free kick from the left side, but the Dukes cleared the ball out to secure the tie.
Duquesne held a 12-to-6 advantage in shots, but both teams finished with four shots on-goal. DU was granted six corner kicks, compared to three for Davidson.
The Wildcats starting goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch, a preseason A-10 selection, was sidelined with an injury after 11 minutes. Smith for Davidson was thrust into play and made two saves.
The Dukes will have a week off until their next match on Sunday, Oct. 10. Duquesne will travel to Fairfax, Virginia to take on George Mason in an A-10 match at 1 p.m.
