Tenth-ranked Duquesne went 9-3 in placing third of 15 schools at the James Brown Invitational held at AMF Towson Lanes in Towson, Md. over the weekend.

The Dukes averaged 190.1 in 70 total games.

Junior two-time All-American Olivia Farwell topped all bowlers with a 223.4 average (1,117 total pins) in five traditional matches. Freshman Kiearra Saldi finished 22nd with a 181.6 average. Junior Sarah Kirkpatrick was 26th with a 179.4 average.

DU, which went 5-0 in baker play, won its first traditional match before dropping back-to-back matches to #13 Sacred Heart and Felician. The Dukes rallied to close traditional play with an 887-847 win over Norfolk State to earn a No. 3 seed for Sunday's championship round.

The Dukes dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 4 seed Kutztown in the first round. The match came down to game seven, which Kutztown won 189-184.

Duquesne rallied to defeat No. 5 seed Wilmington in six games, before gaining a measure of revenge with a 4-3 win over No. 2 seed Sacred Heart in the position round.

DU, which is eighth in the NCAA RPI and sixth in the NTCA power index, returns to action next weekend at NEC Meet #3 which will be held at 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford, N.J.

The Dukes currently lead the Northeast Conference with a 10-2 record.
