Dukes Drop Non-Conference Finale to Penn State

PITTSBURGH - Maddie Hart netted her third straight hat trick for Duquesne as the Dukes fell to visiting B1G foe Penn State by a score of 17-6 on Tuesday afternoon at Arthur J. Rooney Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Goals by Maddie Hart and Alana Piano gave the Dukes (8-7) a 2-1 lead just three and a half minutes into the contest.
  • The Nittany Lions (6-7), who have made seven straight NCAA Tournament appearances, responded with 15 consecutive goals to gain a 16-2 advantage.
  • Duquesne outscored PSU 4-1 the rest of the way as Hart found the back of the net two more times in addition to scores by Kirsten Barnes and Samantha Cirino for the Dukes.
KEY STATS
  • Hart had a team-high three goals for the Dukes. She has tallied 11 goals and three assists in her last three games. She added a game-high five caused turnovers and three draw controls.
