Dukes Down GW on the Road, 20-9

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rilee Bradshaw netted six goals while Sarah Kollhoff recorded four goals and three assists to help Duquesne roll to a 20-9 road victory at George Washington on Friday afternoon. The Dukes improved to 7-6 overall and 2-5 in Atlantic 10 play with the triumph while the Colonials fall to 5-11 and 3-3 in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Duquesne grabbed a 7-2 lead when Carlee Braverman found Michaela Connolly (14:09) and Megan Buettner (12:51) for a pair of goals in the first half. Rilee Bradshaw found the back of the cage twice during this Dukes run, as well.
  • GW countered with a score before DU netted four straight goals from four different players to gain an 11-3 advantage with just over six minutes to go in the opening frame.
  • The Colonials answered with three consecutive goals of their own to shrink the deficit to five at 11-6, but the Dukes responded with six of the next seven goals, including three from Rilee Bradshaw to go ahead 17-7.
  • Duquesne would build its lead to the final margin of 11 goals with scores from Maddie Hart (8:41) on the the advantage and again by Carlee Braverman (2:07).  
KEY STATS
  • Rilee Bradshaw led all scorers with six goals, matching a career high.
  • Sarah Kollhoff finished with seven points, netting four goals to go with a season high three assists. She added seven draw controls in the win.  
  • Michaela Connolly and Maddie Hart each registered a hat trick to go with a pair of assists. Hart also led the Dukes with 10 draw controls and four ground balls.
  • Courtney Battles returned to the lineup for Duquesne and scored two goals with an assist.
  • Carlee Braverman dished out a trio of assists and also scored a goal
  • Megan Buettner found the back of the net once while Sydney Reed tallied an assist on the day.
  • The Dukes, who lead the country in shots per game, outshot the Colonials 45-21 in the contest.
  • Duquesne held a 23-8 advantage on draw controls and a 17-15 edge on ground balls in the victory.
GAME NOTES
  • Rilee Bradshaw has scored 29 goals in seven A-10 games, including 17 in the last three contests. She came into the weekend second in the conference in goals.
  • DU is now 15-4 all-time against the Colonials.

The Dukes travel to Olean, N.Y. for the final A-10 road game of the season at St. Bonaventure on Sunday at noon.
