Dukes Pull Away for 24-18 Win over Central Michigan

PITTSBURGH - Holding a slim 18-17 lead over visiting Central Michigan, Duquesne scored six of the final seven goals of the game en route to a 24-18 victory over the Chippewas on Friday afternoon at Arthur J. Rooney Field. The Dukes improve to 5-1 on the season while Central Michigan drops to 2-5 with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A back-and-forth first half saw the Chippewas take a 12-11 lead heading into the locker room.
  • Central Michigan held a 14-12 edge before Duquesne responded with four straight goals to gain a 16-14 advantage with just over 20 minutes remaining.
  • After the Chippewas answered with a score, Sarah Kollhoff and Maddie Hart each netted goals to put the Dukes ahead 18-15.
  • Central Michigan registered two consecutive goals to shrink the deficit to 18-17.
  • Duquesne would counter with six of the next seven goals, including three from Rilee Bradshaw and a pair from Hart o secure the 24-18 win.
