PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne volleyball team closes out the 2019 season at Mt. Lebanon High School on Saturday afternoon, when the Dukes (10-16, 4-19 )host Atlantic 10 foe La Salle at 4:00 p.m. The Dukes will honor seniors Kailtyn Knurek, Dani Suiter and Liz Wayne prior to the match. Fans can follow the action on ESPN+.

THE SERIES

·         The two Keystone State conference rivals met earlier this season on Oct. 11 in an instant classic at Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia. Duquesne fell in the first two sets by scores of 20-25, and 21-25, but rallied to win three consecutive frames (25-19, 25-18, 15-10) to complete the comeback.

·         Overall, the Dukes have won 43 of the 48 meetings all-time, but two of La Salle's five wins in the series came in 2018.

QUICK HITS

·         The Dukes hosted the top-two teams in the A-10 last weekend, falling to both Saint Louis and Dayton in consecutive sets.  

·         The Dukes senior class of Knurek, Suiter and Wayne have been responsible for 43 wins, 928 kills, 3,515 assistsm 718 digs and 386 blocks in their four-year careers.

·         Suiter will go down as one of the best setters in Duquesne history with 3,493 career assists. That number ranks fifth best in program history. Suiter is a two-time A-10 Second Team all-conference member. She was also named to the conference's all-academic team in 2017 and 2018.

·         Wayne was named to two all-tournament teams this season, and currently leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference with a .327 hitting percentage.

·         Knurek has registered 81 kills in her career and 35 blocks, appearing in 32 matches in her career.

·         In Atlantic 10 play, the Dukes have been led in kills (Morgan Kelly, 3.02 kills/set), assists (Hailey Poling, 4.66 assists/set) and digs (Ashley Larson, 4.66 digs/set) by freshmen.
