Dukes Take Home Pair of Medals at Head of the Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Duquesne rowing team recorded a pair of medal-winning performances at the 2019 Head of the Schuylkill over the weekend on the Schuylkill River across the Keystone State in Philadelphia. The Dukes' freshman/novice eight placed first in its event while Duquesne's championship pair earned a third-place finish in the race.

The Dukes' collegiate freshman/novice eight with Elaina Conant (coxswain) / Mikaela Nestel / Elena Huber / Rebecca Swanson / Jillian Peters / Aynslee Sibley / Payton Campbell / Brigid Haugh / McGinley Jones paced the event with a time of 14:34.1, besting Drexel in second (14:55) and Penn third (15:21.3).

Duquesne's championship pair of Aleiia Asmundson and Molly Miller placed third in the event with a time of 16:07.5, just behind Penn (15:48.5) and Temple (15:51.4).
