@DuqWSoccer Looks to Clinch A-10 Berth this Weekend against St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island

PITTSBURGH – Entering the final weekend of Atlantic 10 Conference play, the Duquesne women's soccer team (5-7-2, 3-5 A10) will close out its home slate against St. Bonaventure (6-9-1, 2-5-1 A10) on Thursday night, before trekking to Rhode Island (4-8-4, 1-5-2 A10) for the final regular season game of the season on Sunday. Thursday's match on the Bluff will be broadcasted on ESPN+ at 7:00 p.m. Sunday's regular-season finale in the Ocean State will start at 1:00 p.m. with live stats available.

THE SERIES
  • The Dukes lead the all-time series by a mark of 13-9 over the Bonnies, but St. Bonaventure has won the last two matchups. On Rooney Field, Duquesne leads the series by a 9-3 margin. 
  • The Rams lead the series against the Dukes, 4-11-3. Duquesne has posted three of its four wins in the series on the Bluff. 
QUICK HITS
  • The Dukes enter the weekend tied for ninth with Richmond in the Atlantic 10 with nine points. The top eight teams in the conference qualify for the conference tournament, with the first four seeds hosting 5-8 seeds on Nov. 2 in the first round.    
  • The Dukes will hope to go 2-0 against the Bonnies and Rams, to secure 15 points in the standings.
  • Last week, Duquesne fell to Dayton, 2-1, on the road in overtime, and suffered its first defeat of the season at Rooney Field when UMass earned a 2-1 victory.
  • With eight goals this season, Deena DeBaldo is tied for second in the A-10 and 61st in the nation. She stands just two goals away from tying the school record with 10 goals in a single season. The Fox Chapel native is tied for third with 19 points on the season.     
  • Duquesne's scoring offense ranks fifth in the conference with 1.76 goals per game and has tallied the third-most accurate percentage in shots (.488).
  • Jaimi Araujo and Alex Saturni both recorded a goal last weekend. Araujo ranks second on the Dukes with three goals and seven points for the Dukes in her freshman campaign, while Saturni has posted two goals this season.  
  • While St. Bonaventure enters the weekend with a 2-5-1 record, the Bonnies have won two of its last three contests, downing Richmond 2-1 in overtime, while defeating Rhode Island by a 1-0 margin. The Bonnies fought hard against first-place George Washington, falling by just one goal at 2-1.
  • Rhode Island posted its lone A-10 win in its latest matchup, when the Rams earned a 1-0 victory over Richmond at home last Sunday. The Rams will face Saint Joseph's on Thursday prior to the meeting with the Dukes.
