RICHMOND, Va. - The Duquesne swimming and diving team will race for the second weekend in a row, traveling to the Richmond Duals for the two-day event on Friday and Saturday. Swimming will be held at SwimRVA with diving taking place at The Robins Center.
The Dukes battle the host Spiders on Friday with Davidson facing George Mason in the other matchup. The winners of these two contests will square off on Saturday with the losers also facing each other on the final day of competition.
Diving is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Swimming is set to start at 5:00 p.m. Friday and 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. All swimming events along with Saturday's diving competitions will stream live on ESPN+.
Duquesne opened the season last weekend with a long course meters quad meet hosted by Pitt at Trees Pool against the Panthers, Villanova and Youngstown State. The Dukes shattered three long course school records at the meet.
Lauren Devorace (Rocky River, Ohio / Rocky River) won the 400-meter freestyle with a school-record time of 4:31.76 for the Dukes while
Summer Svitavsky (Willoughby, Ohio / Hawken) set a school record in the 800-meter freestyle with a showing of 9:25.68, good for second place in the event. Duquesne's 400-meter medley relay team with

Erin Kuhn (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny),
Sophia Perez (Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill) and
Carson Gross (York, Pa. / York Suburban) also set a program record with a performance of 4:29.76 in the race.
Friday's opponent Richmond posted a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship. The Spiders won seven-straight A-10 titles before Duquesne won back-to-back championships in 2018 and '19. George Mason placed sixth at last season's league championship meet with Davidson finishing eighth.
