Preview: @DuqWSoccer at Saint Joseph’s

PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne women's soccer team will travel to Philadelphia for the second time in 15 days, when the Dukes (5-4-2, 3-2 A10) battle Saint Joseph's (5-7-1, 2-3 A10) on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The match at Sweeney Field will be broadcasted on ESPN+.

THE SERIES
  • The Hawks lead the all-time series by an 11-3-4 mark.
  • The two teams have not met since 2016, when the Hawks earned a 3-2 victory at Rooney Field.
  • The Dukes seek their first win over Saint Joseph's since 2007.
  • Three of the last seven matchups have needed at least one overtime period, with two contests ending in ties.
QUICK HITS
  • The Dukes picked up a pair of wins last weekend at Rooney Field, defeating Richmond and George Mason by 2-1 scores.
  • An own-goal by Richmond and a second-half score from Jaimi Araujo proved to be enough, as the Spiders rallied with a goal in the 87th minute, but could not convert on late opportunities to tie the match.
  • Down 1-0 at the half, a goal from Lauren Bell in the 76th minute and a late score from Deena DeBaldo in the 88th lifted the Dukes past George Mason on Sunday.
  • With the two victories, Duquesne improved to 5-0-1 at home this season and extended its unbeaten streak at Rooney Field to eight consecutive matches, dating back to Oct. 4, 2018.
  • DeBaldo recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against Richmond and recorded the game-winning goal against the Patriots.  The Fox Chapel native is tied for the A-10 lead in goals with eight on the season and ranks second in the conference with 18 points.
  • DeBaldo's 2019 campaign now ranks tied for fifth-best in program history with eight goals in a season and is tied for 10th in most points in a season. She needs just three goals over final five-plus games to break Lauren Bracco (2003) and Katie O'Connor's (2015) record of 10 goals in a single season.
  • DeBaldo currently ranks 30th in the nation in goals per game (.73) 38th in points per game (1.64), 39th in total goals and 52nd in total points.
  • As a team, the Dukes are 35th in the country in shot accuracy (.528).
  • The Hawks enter Sunday's with a 5-7-1 overall record and a 2-3 record in A-10 play.
  • SJU is led offensively by Dakota Mills (3 goals), Kylie D'Ambra (2 goals, 1 assist) and Gabrielle Vagnozzi (2 goals).
