PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne rowing team took to the Allegheny River early Wednesday morning to take on Pittsburgh in a scrimmage, the Dukes' first competition of the 2018-19 season.
Two Duquesne eights went up against an eight from Pitt, while two Dukes fours faced off with a Panther four and a double. The boats competed in three 10-minute pieces with capped ratings.
"Overall, I was happy with how the team performed," second-year head coach
Jenn Langzettel said. "I know I have said it a lot already this year, but we are a young team. We have made a lot of strides in these first few weeks of our season, even with limited water time. Having the added benefit of competition allowed us to see if the women will maintain the changes we have been looking for with added pressure. There is still work to be done, but overall it was a good morning with great competition."
