PREVIEW: @DuqMSoccer Closes Homestand vs. Robert Morris

Dukes and Colonials meet Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Duquesne (1-3-1) concludes a stretch of five consecutive home games with a clash against Robert Morris (1-5-1) on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7:00 p.m. on Rooney Field. DU is coming off a 1-1 draw with Temple on Sunday night, while RMU defeated Atlantic 10 member La Salle, 1-0, at home on Saturday. Admission to all Duquesne home games is free.

THE SERIES VS. ROBERT MORRIS
  • This is the 24th meeting between the Dukes and Colonials.
  • DU and RMU have met every season since Duquesne began its program in 1995.
  • Duquesne leads the series 14-6-3, including a 10-1-0 advantage in matches on Rooney Field.
  • DU has won the past nine between the two on Rooney Field, with RMU's lone win coming on Sept. 22, 1998 by a 4-0 score.
  • Last year, RMU's Christian Coridon scored in the 82nd minute to give the Colonials a 1-1 draw with the Dukes at Moon Township.
  • The two teams have split the past five meetings (2-2-1) with each team posting wins at home and the tie coming last season.

  • Duquesne is 16-7-2 in nonconference home games under sixth-year head coach Chase Brooks. Duquesne is 49-22-10 all-time in nonconference home games in its 24th season as a program.
  • DU is 1-2-1 at home in 2018, RMU is 0-2-1 on the road this season.
  • The Dukes are coming off a 1-1 tie with Temple on Sunday night. Senior Noah Mehta gave DU a 1-0 lead with his first career goal in the 12th minute only, to see the Owls tie it at the 87 minute mark.
  • DU's five goals this season have come from five players: Manel Busquets, Zion Beaton, Rob Dymond, Zach Hall and Noah Mehta.
  • The Dukes, who have started at least six freshmen in all five games this season, have started seven freshmen in each of their four most-recent matches: Manel Busquets, Nathan Dossantos, Rob Dymond, Moritz Kappelsberger, Domenic Nascimben, Kendall Newman, Gylfi Stefansson and Eric Zech have all started at least once. Of the eight freshmen who have started, seven are international players.
  • Busquets leads the team with four points, including a goal vs. Northern Kentucky and pair of assists vs. Detroit Mercy.
  • Nascimben has started the past three games in goal for the Dukes. The Australian has recorded 10 saves and surrendered just two goals in that three-game span.
  • Junior Zach Hall (15 points, 6 goals) and senior Ian Larson (11 points, 4 goals) are DU's top current career point-getters and goal scorers.
  • Hall leads the team in shots (12) and shots on goal (7).
  • Senior Noah Mehta leads the team in career games with 50. Larson is second with 44 games played.
  • The Dukes have 15 first-year players on the 2018 roster including 14 freshmen and junior Pitt transfer M Alec Anselmo. Anselmo played in 30 matches with 16 starts in two seasons with the Panthers.
