PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Three Duquesne rowers competed with various teams this past weekend at the Independence Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River.

Coxswain and rising sophomore Abigail Griffith (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) coxed the Three Rivers Rowing Association Master's Women to a victory in both the Master's Women's Four and the Master's Women's Eight.

Fellow rising sophomore Ellen Wenzinger (Wynnewood, Pa./The Baldwin School) competed in the Mixed Open 2x finishing second in her heat followed by a first-place finish in the final.

In addition, Rachel Pierce (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill High School East), another rising sophomore, earned three first-place finishes with the Vesper U23 Lightweight Camp. She recorded a first-place mark in the Women's Lightweight 2x on Saturday as well as the Women's Intermediate Lightweight 2x and the Women's Intermediate Eight on Sunday.
