Box Score
PITTSBURGH - Sophomore midfielder Rilee Bradshaw (Middletown, Md./Middletown) finished with four points, but Richmond's Kim Egizi and Marissa Brown combined for 13 goals and six assists as the visiting Spiders topped the Duquesne lacrosse team by a score of 19-10 on Saturday afternoon at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
The Dukes move to 3-6 on the year and 1-1 in Atlantic 10 play while Richmond improves to 8-2 and 2-0 in league action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Richmond took a quick 2-0 lead, the Dukes scored three straight goals, the last coming from sophomore midfielder Maddie Hart (Sykesville, Md./Century) off the feed by Bradshaw to give DU its first advantage of the day at 3-2 with just under 23 minutes to play in the first half.
- The Spiders answered with four consecutive goals to gain a 6-3 edge, before Hart found the back of the net again to shrink the deficit to 6-4.
- Richmond would respond with two scores to close the half and take an 8-4 lead into the locker room.
- Bradshaw opened the half with a free position goal for the Dukes to minimize the advantage to 8-5, but that is as close as Duquesne would come, as Richmond outscored DU 11-4 the rest of the way.
