RESULTS
WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Duquesne rowing team concluded its 2018 spring training trip to the Sunshine State by winning the Lyden Cup for the first time in program history at the Rollins Invitational on Saturday morning on Lake Maitland.
The Dukes competed against host Rollins, Villanova and Stetson at the event.
DU's varsity eight with Coxswain Faith Caldiero, stroke Lauren Murray, Jessica Goldstein, Allison Schmitt, Cassandra Holder, Samantha Dunn, Brittney Raible, Rachel Pierce and Molly Miller claimed first place in the race with a time of 6:48.9 to pace the Dukes at the event.
In addition, Duquesne added five more second-place marks at the event, including:
Second varsity eight (7:08.2)
Coxswain Mary Clay, stroke Serena Benages, Maggie Cunningham, Mary Katherine Byrne, Antonia Maffia, Devon Eliason, Kasie Sayers, Aleiia Asmundson and Olivia Delaney
Third varsity eight (7:23.1)
Coxswain Caroline Dirr, stroke Meredith O'Neil, Rachel Kaup, Caroline Redd, Amanda Pellegrino, Elizabeth Giglia, Lauryn Garretson, Hannah Straub and Zara Wenzinger.

Head coach Jenn Langzettel: "Overall, we had a solid week of training. The women worked hard physically and maintained as well as improved upon technical changes made in the fall. We are looking forward to continued progress throughout the season."
