eDuquesne placed 7^th of 19 teams at the Virginia Union Invitational in Glen Allen, Va. over the weekend. The Dukes, who were seeded fifth entering Sunday's championship bracket, fell to No. 6 St. Francis Brooklyn (1-4) and No. 7 Howard (0-4) before rallying to defeat No. seed Felician (4-3) for seventh place.
 
DU went 4-0 in baker matches and 3-2 in traditional play on Friday and Saturday to earn the No. 5 seed. The Dukes were fifth overall in average at 175.01 for 66 games.
 
"When scores are as low as they were for this tournament, spares are critical," said head coach Jody Fetterhoff. "Unfortunately, we missed too many makeable spares at important times throughout the weekend and it cost us. We have to do a better job with that as we prepare for our next tournament, the Hawk Classic where we will compete against a lot more ranked teams."
 
The Dukes placed three bowlers in the Top 30, led by sophomore Allison Hresko, who put together one of her top tournaments as a Duke with a 186.0 average. Hresko had a high game of 227 in a win over Virginia Union and added a 213 against Howard. Olivia Farwell placed 16h with a 184.0 average and freshman Jessica Cadez finished 28^th with an average of 174.4.
