@DuqMSoccer Comes up Short vs. Marshall

Marshall scored three times in the second half to erase a 1-0 Duquesne lead in defeating the Dukes, 3-1, on Rooney Field. Lewis Knight had a pair of goals (48' & 79') and an assist for the Herd. Zach Hall posted Duquesne's goal three minutes into the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Zach Hall got the Dukes on the board in the third minute when he took a long pass from Nigel Seidu in full stride and took it down the right side before beating Nate Himes to the upper right corner.
  • The Dukes held the Herd without a shot until the 19th minute.
  • Duquesne keeper Robbie McKelvey robbed Lewis Knight with a save on a straight-on shot in the 24th minute.
  • Marshall tied it three minutes into the second half on a goal by Knight. Knight took a cross inside the six-yard box and buried it in the left corner.
  • Himes robbed Tyrese Edwards from just outside the six with a punch-out in the 73rd minute.
  • Jaime Izquierdo Roiz gave the Herd the lead for good off a pass from Knight in the 76th minute.
  • Knight then took a long pass from Dion Sterfiotis and came in unchallenged from the left side to make it 3-1 in the 79th minute.
  • Marshall's Himes and Duquesne's McKelvey finished with four saves each.
