QUICK RECAP: Duquesne's three match unbeaten streak came to an end on Sunday after a 2-1 setback against #27 Princeton.

The first scoring attempt of the game came in the 6th minute when Princeton's Jesse McDonough's shot was stopped by Kyra Murphy.

The Tigers recorded three more chances before capitalizing off a penalty kick goal by Tyler Lussi in the 15th minute.

Duquesne would retaliate when Katie O'Connor connected with a cross from Emilie Larsen in the 28th minute, putting the ball past Grossi and leveling the game.

Both teams would exchange shots, however the score remained tied heading into halftime.

Princeton gained a 2-1 advantage in the 54th minute when Natalie Larkin's shot beat Kyra Murphy, after collecting the ball from an initial header shot by Princeton's Allesia Azermadhi.

Casey Aunkst's shot which was blocked by Grossi in the 77th minute was the final chance for either team, holding Duquesne scoreless through the second half.

COACH ALVINE QUOTE: "It was a hard fought game against a good Princeton team, and we can't fault the kids for their effort. We played very well over the course of the game, but we gave away two goals. We'll have to go back to work in practice and figure out a way to stop those types of goals from happening."

UP NEXT: The Dukes will travel to Loretto, Pa. to face Saint Francis U on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Duquesne will return home to open their conference schedule against Richmond on Thursday, Sept. 29th at 7 p.m.
