QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne volleyball team dropped both matches on Saturday in the second day of the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational. The 10:30 a.m. match against Southern Illinois ended in a 3-0 loss, and Central Michigan would go on to defeat the Dukes 3-0 in their third game of the invitational.
Southern Illinois 3, Duquesne 0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-20): Abbie Trzeciak and Maddie Bazelak led the Dukes with eight kills each, but three SIU players combined for a total of 26 kills in their shutout win.
Central Michigan 3, Duquesne 0 (25-21, 27-25, 29-27): Molly Davet totaled a match-best 15 kills, while Maddie Bazelak had 14 kills. Lacey Levers added a .357 hitting percentage as the Dukes fell to CMU in the final match of the invitational.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: Bazelak was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the invitational Saturday evening, after leading the Dukes with 37 kills in three matches.
UP NEXT: The Dukes will return to action on Tuesday when they head to Ohio to face Youngstown State at 7 p.m.
