Duquesne University rowing seniors Emily Herzig (Buffalo, N.Y./Mount St. Mary Academy) and Rachel Swain (Butler, Pa./Butler) have been named to the nine-person Atlantic 10 Rowing Academic All-Conference Team as announced by the league office. Duquesne and Massachusetts led the league with two honorees each.

Herzig received the award based on her cumulative grade point average of 3.79 as an elementary education major as well as her athletic accomplishments. A 2016 Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference choice, she rowed in the Varsity 8 boat which finished third at the Atlantic 10 Championship and is a member of the Dean's List, Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Director of Athletics Honor Roll.

Swain was also a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 choice after rowing in the Varsity 8 boat which finished third at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship. She too is a member of the Dean's List, Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Director of Athletics Honor Roll. Swain boasts a 3.96 cumulative grade point average as a psychology major.

The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Media Relations Directors.
