TEAM RECORDS: DUQ 2-1 // MASON 2-2
QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne swimming team concluded the weekend-long event going 2-0 at the Richmond Duals with a 156-131 win over George Mason Saturday.
Gabrielle Werner earned the Dukes a second place finish in the 1650-yard Freestyle with a time of 18:00.97, in the opening event of the meet.
The 400-yard Medley Relay team of Abby Watson, Abigail Stauffer, Kayla Owens and Lexi Santer took first, finishing in 3:53.76.
In the 200-yard Freestlye, Morgan Smith (1:55.59), Carson Gross (1:55.79), Lauren Devorace (1:57.05) and Sydnee Karam (1:57.95) would have top-four finishes.
Stauffer (1:05.65) and Erin Kuhn (1:06.88) placed first and second for the Dukes in the 100-yard Breaststroke.
Santer's 200-yard Butterfly performance earned a second place finish with a time of 2:10.34, and Shelly Heim would follow suit in the next event, taking second in the 50-yard Freestyle in 24.60.
Taking first and second in the 200-yard Backstroke were Karam (2:05.99) and Watson (2:09.13).
In the next event, Owens' time of 2:22.62 earned a first place finish for the Dukes in the 200-yard Breaststroke and Heather Svitavsky would win the 100-yard Freestyle in 54.00.
Devorace's performance in the 500-yard Freestyle (5:11.16) was good for second place.
Stauffer (4:31.46) and Santer (4:34.10) went on to have top-two finishes in the 400-yard Individual Medley.
The final event of the day resulted in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of Kristen McKnight, Heim, Owens and Smith winning with a time of 1:36.31.
COACH SHEETS QUOTE: "I was very pleased with our swims this weekend. We had contributions from everyone which made the wins a total team effort. With the meets behind us we will get back to the pool on Monday and focus on continuing to get better."
UP NEXT: The Dukes head to Geneva, Oh. for the A-10 Quad Meet, beginning on Saturday, Oct. 29th at 11:00 a.m. and concluding with a meet set for Sunday, Oct. 30th at 9:30 a.m.
