QUICK RECAP: Despite firing a season-high 21 shots, Duquesne was unable to find the back of the net as they played Massachusetts to a scoreless tie on Thursday afternoon in Amherst, Mass.
In the 1st half, the Dukes tested the Minutewomen defense by firing two shots at UMass keeper Cassidy Bobin, which were turned away. The teams traded scoring opportunities in the final 10 minutes of the half, but could not connect as they went into halftime scoreless.
The Dukes dominated control in the 2nd half, registering nine shots and six corners. Duquesne had their best chance to get on the board in the 86th minute when Katie O'Connor's shot towards was narrowly deflected by Bobin. The ball rung off the far post and rolled parallel to the goal line, but did not go over.
Babin finished with nine saves, while Dukes keeper Kyra Murphy had four and recorded her sixth shutout of the season.
