The Duquesne volleyball team opened the season at the University of Maryland for the four match Maryland Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Dukes finished 1-3, defeating Morgan State and falling to Hofstra, Maryland and Kent State.

Madelynn Burnham led the Dukes with 12 kills and Mary Henry added 27 assists, but it was Hofstra that came away with the 4-set victory. DUQ's Sammy Kline and Camryn Vecera recorded 12 and 10 digs respectively.

Maryland 3, Duquesne 0 (25-20,25-22,25-18) Box Score
Burnham tied the match-high with 10 kills and Henry led all setters with 29 assists, but the host Terrapins came away with the 3-set sweep.

Duquesne 3, Morgan State 0 (25-15,26-24,25-20) Box Score
Burnham led all players with 14 kills as the Dukes recorded their first win of the season in straight sets over Morgan State. Henry recorded a double-double of a match-high 29 assists and 10 digs. Molly Davet also had a double-double of 10 kills and 11 digs. Burnham hit .500. Kline had a team-high 12 digs.

Kent State 3, Duquesne 1 (18-25,25-19,25-23,25-21) Box Score
Abbie Trzeciak tied a career-high with 15 kills, Davet recorded another double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs in the Dukes' loss to the Golden Flashes. Kline had 18 digs and Vecera 15.
