QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne women's soccer team fell 1-0 to visiting VCU on Sunday afternoon at Rooney Field. Julia Suarez scored the lone goal in the 50th minute of play. Suarez was able to shake off a pair of Duquesne defenders and score from 15 yards out.

Duquesne's Caroline Lacy had the first scoring chance of the game when her shot from the left side was tipped aside by VCU keeper Emma Kruse in the 17th minute.

The Dukes, who were outshot 14-7, had a chance to tie the contest on a pair of headers in the final five minutes by Cydney Staton and Linnea Faccenda that were turned away Kruse. Kruse finished with six saves, while her counterpart Kyra Murphy had three.
