QUICK RECAP:The Duquesne volleyball team fell to VCU 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in Richmond, Va.

Abbie Trzeciak led the Dukes with 12 kills, Mary Henry with 38 assists, Sammy Kline with 15 digs and Lacey Levers with five assists. Nora Young had a season-high 14 kills.

VCU's Kalah Jones had a match-high 27 kills.

After trailing 13-12 in the 1st set, the Dukes won 12 of the next 13 points to take a 23-14 lead. VCU answered with three points before committing a service error, making it set point at 24-17. The Rams would hold off set point seven straight times to tie the set at 24-24. The teams would tie three more times until a Rams kill followed by a Dukes error won the set for VCU 29-27.

Down 18-9 in the 2nd set, Duquesne won nine of the next 10 points to make it a one point set at 19-18. The Dukes would get within one point of tying the set three times, but could not catch the Rams. Jones' kill won the set 25-22.

In the 3rd set, Duquesne jumped out to an early 9-3 lead and held the lead the rest of the way. Their lead got as high as nine points when a Molly Davet and Levers block made the score 19-10. A kill from Henry won the set for the Dukes at 25-19.

There were 16 ties in the 4th set. The teams split the first 44 points before a VCU kill and a Duquesne error made the score 24-22. Trzeciak's kill held off match point, but Jones' 27th kill of the match ended the set at 25-23 and the match 3-1
