QUICK RECAP: Saint Louis jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 5th and decisive set and never looked back as the Billikens came out of Palumbo Center with a 3-2 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Dukes had two players with double-digit kills in Molly Davet (12) and Arielle Love (11). Love also hit a match-best .474. Sammy Kline led the Dukes with 14 digs and Mary Henry had a team-high 39 assists. Love had six blocks. SLU's Danielle Rygelski and Nenye Okoro each had 21 kills and Megan Gilbert added 16.
With the 1st set tied at 12-12, the Dukes went ahead on a Billikens service error and led the rest of the way. SLU held off three set points until a kill from Love gave the Dukes the 25-23 win. Saint Louis won the first five points of the 2nd set and led from beginning-to-end, winning 25-11. After the break, the Billikens came out with a 25-13 win in the 3rd set. With the 4th set tied at 22-22 the Dukes used a kill by Liis Kullerkann, a block from Henry and Love and finished off the set with a Love kill to win 25-22 and tie the match up at 2-2. However, Duquesne could only had three kills in the 5th set as SLU came away with the 3-2 win after taking the set 15-5. This was the first time since Sept. 26-28, 2010 that Duquesne had dropped two straight contests at home.
