NIAGARA QUICK RECAP:
The Dukes took an early 10-1 lead in the 1st set. After forcing back-to-back errors by Niagara, the Dukes took their first 10-point lead at 15-5. A kill by Lacey Levers ended Set 1 with the Dukes winning 25-11. Arielle Love ended the set with six kills and hit .714. As a team, Duquesne hit .423.
Set 2 was played close, with the largest lead by either team being four points. Trailing 12-11, Duquesne scored four straight points to take a lead they would not relinquish, until NU fought off three set points to tie the score at 24-24. NU took the lead 25-24 and 26-25 before a kill by Love followed by a block by Nora Young and Levers gave the Dukes a 27-26 lead. The lead would change hands three more times before a kill by Levers ended the set 31-29, giving the Dukes a 2-0 advantage.
With Niagara up 6-5 in Set 3, the Dukes played from behind until a Madelynn Burnham kill gave Duquesne a 14-13 lead. The Dukes would hold onto the lead and finished the match on a Love kill, 25-20 and 3-0.
NORFOLK STATE QUICK RECAP:
The Dukes led from beginning-to-end in Set 1, winning 25-19. Love had another solid 1st set, recording five kills and hitting .714. Duquesne led the majority of Set 2, building a led as high as eight points at 20-12. Molly Davet had six kills in the set. The Dukes opened up Set 3 by taking an 11-3 lead.​ An ace by Patti Abshire gave Duquesne a 17-7 lead. All 13 players got in the match in the 25-20 win.

The Dukes head to Toledo, Ohio to play in the Rocket Invitational. On Sept. 19th, the Dukes face Minnesota and IPFW. The following day, they play the host Rockets.
