QUICK RECAP: Arielle Love had a match-best 18 kills and hit .739 as the Duquesne volleyball team recorded its first Atlantic 10 Conference victory this season in their 3-0 victory over Fordham on Friday afternoon. Mary Henry had a match-best 33 assists. Julia McCabe and Liis Kullerkann each had a team-high five assists for the Dukes.
Tied at 7-7 in the 1st set, Duquesne scored five out of the next six points to go ahead 12-8. The Dukes used a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 19-11. A kill by Lacey Levers ended they set with the Dukes winning 25-17.
Duquesne jumped out to an 11-1 lead in the 2nd set. During a six-point service by Kullerkann, the Dukes forced five Fordham attack errors. Madelynn Burnham's kill ended the set at 25-13.
In the 3rd set, Duquesne won the first eight points behind the serving of Sammy Kline. A Kullerkann ace gave the Dukes a 12-2 lead and a kill by Love gave Duquesne its largest lead of the half at 14-3. The match ended on a Rams attack error.
