QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne women's soccer team fired three shots in the final 72 seconds of the match, but could not find the back of the net as Saint Joseph's came away with a 1-0 victory on Sunday.
After playing 83 scoreless minutes, SJU's Olivia McEachern tapped the ball in to the box and found Emily Gingrich whose shot hot off a Duquesne defender past DUQ keeper Devon Tabata on the right side.
The Dukes had a chance to tie the match in the waning minutes. With 1:12 remaining, Caroline Lacy's shot was turned away by SJU keeper Allison Ebling. With 10 seconds left, Ebling made a save on Linnea Faccenda. The rebound came out to Danya Fenech, but her shot was blocked by a Hawks defender as time expired.
UP NEXT: The Dukes play a rare Friday matinee against Rhode Island at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 24th.
