Women's Soccer Falls to Kent State 1-0

PITTSBURGH - Kent State's Megan Jackson found the back of the net in the 68th minute to lead the Golden Flashes to a 1-0 victory over the Duquesne women's soccer team on Sunday afternoon.

The Dukes fall to 1-6-0 on the season while KSU improves to 5-2-0.

Kent State's Jaclyn Dutton almost got on the board in the 16th minute, but DU keeper Davon Tabata made a diving save.

Duquesne had a scoring chance in the 65th minute as a Kristin Vinicky free kick bounced off the crossbar.

Morgan Herbert had a game-high four shots.

Up next for the Dukes is cross-town rival Robert Morris. The match is Friday with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

NOTE: The teams gathered together at midfield prior to the match to observe a moment of silence on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
